Field of Remembrance

Over the past few days we have been looking in detail at the meaning if ANZAC Day and what it means to us.  One if the things we have done as a school was to create a Field of Remembrance.  We constructed the crosses with our buddies, lining up the names correctly, then today the Senior Class measured out our field and we created the field.  We all had turns erecting a cross for a soldier or civilian that had paid the ultimate sacrifice.
We recognised several names from the area.
We hope some of you can visit it during the next few weeks.  It is pretty special.

Football

It is a wee bit out of order but the Middle Class plus a few extras (all the year 3 - 6's in the school) spent the last Tuesday of Term 1 at the annual Football Tournament.
Again it was a super day - the children all played out of their skins and seemed to be having a fabulous time!
All the teams made it through to the quarter finals, with one year 3/4 team and the year 5/6 team progressing to the semi-finals.
Both games went down to a nail biting finish with games playing drop-off, ending up with two players from each team on the field.
Unfortunately it becomes golden goal and in both games we were pipped at the post.
A big thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came along and supported the children during the day.
Thanks also to Mitch and the Football club for a super day.
And Top Job Warepa Kids - You make us proud!!!!

GOAL ! ! !

Last day of term

It's been such a big term, that as a treat we decided to have an Easter Activity Day.
To add some variation we thought a pyjama day was a good idea.  We've all been busy crafting, thinking, eating popcorn and watching a movie.

We also want to say a big farewell and good luck to Charlotte who is moving to Clutha Valley next term. Mrs Tourell and class you are getting a pretty cool classmate!
We will miss you Charlotte.

We will post some more about our busy term 1 soon!
